An e-bay observation.

I buy the occasional item on e-bay... bicycle parts, powerbars, stuff. Lately most items I bid on are constantly being bid up to close to retail. Has the whole bidding world lost it's mind?

Speak on this.

Welcome to eBay. People get caught up in the bidding aspect of it too much and forget what they are bidding on.

I think the things that have small supply and small demand sell for around retail price.

Things that have big supply and small demand sell for a lot less than retail.

Things that have small suppy and big demand sell for a lot more than retail.

Those are the observations I've made...

It is infact, my last resort.
Good point.
Ebay was great when it started, but it got a little too popular and now its abused like every other form of commerce we have.

its one thing if you close to retail for something that is still new, i don't get why people bid for a used item to within $5 or $10 to what it would cost retail.
