Hey All
The other day I installed an Audigy 2 sound card in my system , I bought just the retail box with just the sound card and not the others boxes that have the control-unit.

The install was a complete nitemare as it crashed my system but after hours of messing with it I got back into WinXp and everything is back to normal but I have a couple of questions for those of you who have just the sound card too.

I installed everything that came on the driver/app-CD .

1) is there a sound mixer with the standard Audigy 2 ? if so I can't access it, it keeps telling me that my card does not support it.

2) why does the Audigy 2 software think I have a SB Audigy- 9000 ?

3) when I double click on Audigy 2 icon which is located on the bottom of the right hand corner task-bar it then comes back and says *The selected sound card is not supported by the application* what the hack does that mean ??

I installed everything that came on the driver/app-CD .

There's your problem... YOu need to only install the drivers from the website... Never even put the CD in your computer... DOn't know what you should do now though.

I agree with everyone above, you probably have a driver issue.
I had a problem with my Audigy 2 where if I would even as much as wiggle the jack that plugs into the the back of the audigy 2 for my front speakers, my whole system would lock up instantly. I fooled around with some stuff, and found out that it worked once I changed the PCI slot it was in...... I dunno....

Remove all traces of your previous sound card.
Do a search for drive cleaner and run it.
Almost a must is to download the updated drivers first at creatives sight.
Install your drivers then update all the new drivers for each catagory.
I did a fresh install and also had to relocate my soundcard to a different PCI slot as I had conflicts with the slot I was using.

My A2 run just fine with both my A7N8X's when I had them. All I did was disable the on-board audio and midi port in the BIOS, installed the card, and then installed *only* the software I needed (i.e base drivers, Mixer, EAX Console, AudioHQ, DVD-Audio player). Nothing more, nothing less. There *IS* a game port resource conflict bug with the initial drivers and nForce2 boards, but this was fixed since Feb by updated drivers.

Thanks guys,
I tried the onboard audio when I first built this system in June but couldn't get my rear speakers to work so I didn't sweat it so I installed my TBSC so after deciding that I needed the ultimate gamers card (Audigy 2) last week I bought it and installed it :)

The sound in everything works superb its just that I can't seem to make some of the apps work ????

When I installed an audigy 2, I had to reconfigure foobar and winamp to acknowledge the audigy 2. No sound at first.
