"An American Exotic that outperforms Ferrari's Enzo for under $100,000"

Came across an ad for Alan autosports a few days ago and have been wondering what the catch is. Of course it's quite hard to believe it outperforms an Enzo as they say. Figured I might as well ask the Car nuts here, since I'm not much of a car nut myself. Their website is kinda lame also.

Very nice looking cars though ( I'll take the Sport edition 😀 )

It is basically a kit car with a big GM engine. Also just saying it outperforms an Enzo doesn't really mean much, my Truck can outperform an enzo at towing, etc.

For me, I don't care if A or B outperforms Enzo, Murcielago, Carrera GT or SLR McLaren. The fact they are Enzo, Murcielago, Carrera GT or SLR McLaren make them worth. (And I am not going to drive @ 180 mph on 65 mph limit highway or razor-cutting everyone in front of me @ 140 mph anyway)

Man, I dont know, but if I ever were to hit the lottery, pretty much any amount, this would be high on the list as the car I wouldnt mind getting. Thats a pretty solid looking car, with a great motor, twin turbos 700HP, blow up the motor, it would be one of the cheapest super cars to have its motor replaced. I like it 🙂

It would be fun to drive it to the track, beat the shit out of it for fun, and drive it home. Whats not to like about that?

Where did they get that Air Cleaner???? I want to put that on my L98 in my Fastro 😱

Most exotics are not the best bang for buck from performance by any standard. Compare a top-end corvette with a random $200k exotic, I'm sure there are performance areas it can win in. We already know that a simpe little lotus elise and beat up most large exotics in a tight auto cross course.

All due respect, those cars look like someone with a small penis would drive: very flashy and very nice to look at, but when you pull down the trunks...

When this car "pulls its pants down," it leaves 95% of the competition in the dust for half the price. So please leave your personal shortcomings just that, personal. 😉

There's an 800hp twin-turbo v8. I don't get where you were going with that one.

That could be said for pretty much any super-car. Doesn't mean the driver is compensating for anything...could just mean they are really rich and like to have a fun ride. Not like it's a Hummer h2 😛

I think that's the Factory Five GTM supercar, just put together for you by Alan Autosports and sold as their own.

Edit: sure enough. Haha, they even lifted some photos directly from the factory five website.

at ffcobra.com they have a forum dedicated to GTM builds. The people building them are pretty candid about the flaws in the car, but it is a really sweet machine.

That said, if I were going to do a kit car of that scale (a cobra would be much easier and faster) I'd go instead with the Race Car Replicas (RCR) GT40. Here is a build thread: http://www.gt40s.com/forum/gt4...d-rcr-40-build-14.html

Have fun cycling back through the 14 pages of automotive porn, and then finding all the other amazing build threads (not just RCR cars, either)

Yep, two LS2s and one LS1. Those guys could be using LS3s now. It doesn't look like their site has been updated in a while.
