I just paid more money for a 50 pack of CD-r's than 50 DVD+r's...

50 Memorex 52x CD-r - 19.99
50 Memorex 8x DVD+r - 18.99

awesome!

Just so you know, they have a deal going right now for Philips 50 disc spindles of CDRs. Buy one at $12.99, get one free.

i like all my cd-rs/dvd+rs to be the same brand 🙂

Not to long ago I bought a 50 pack of Walgreens CD-Rs for 4.99. No complaints here, they work fine. 😛

CD-R Quality vs CD-R Compatibility
  • Most people think that when they have burned up a spindle and did not get any coaster that the quality of these CD-R's was very good. In fact this is NOT true as this only tells you that the used CD-R's are compatible with your CD-Writer.
Over the years most CD-Writer manufacturers have learned how to make their hardware compatibility with all kinds of CD-R's (even the low budget media!) so it is not strange that less coasters occure.

So keep in mind that nobody can claim that a certain CD-R is of good quality just by successfully burning a number of CD-R's!

Yeah...
Dude you got ripped pretty bad. I pay 20 bucks for 100 cheapo CD-Rs. (no, I don't care. I don't keep them very long. Anything I know I want for a long time, like 3+ years, Istore on Magnetic media)

This is very true. I had a bad batch of cheap spindles, that would burn ok, but it produced cyclic redundancy errors (dont know what the hell it is) when I try to copy the data back to the drive.

maybe in july

me either, my next paycheck is going to have to go to another HDD, headphones, and gas 🙁 I really need to back up this stuff but man, I'd have to use a whole spindle of 100 CD-Rs.

Yeah.. anyone who doesn't have a DVD drive in this day and age.. get with the program! Even the cheapest laptops include built-in DVD burners. 😛

Trust me, I put off getting a DVD burner, for much longer than I should have. Sooo useful for making Ghost backups of my HDs. 2 DVDs and then some, instead of a stack of ~14 CDRs.
