Amuzuma Fan Adapter

It is probably better than the tapered throat type of fan adaper that adapts only one size to one other size, but you will find bigger fans have bigger hubs with bigger hotspots. If your HS is a shrouded radial, an adapter that allows a bigger fan to pull air thru the HS's fins would likely make a substantial difference. But few HSs are radial or shrouded. And you don't have to pay $40. for a high-tech HSF. Provantage.com has been selling the Arctic Cooling Freezers for in the upper teens.
It's a bit fussy in the mounting, but if your mobo, etc. can accomadate one of those, it's hard to find a better value.

I read reviews in NewEgg where they have problems mounting to a s939 and how it slides after an install that the clamping is one sided for the Arctic Freezers.
