Yeah, doesn't look like the mod-instructed "neutral corners" to me. He's probably spending up any mod goodwill and mercy he might have had.
 
So what precipitated all of this? Is Amtrak just angry for no apparent reason?

IMO threats should not be tolerated; that said I do not know the entire story here.

I just don't understand bsobel's involvement if he is not longer a mod. How is he obtaining the guy's IP address?

I'm not saying that the guy doesn't deserve punishment here. Do the mods freely give out people's IP addresses upon request? How else is our privacy infringed upon?

Right now, Bill thinks he is a genius software engineer from a rural part of San Diego county.

He thinks that my messages to him will be perceived as "threats" by law enforcement when they are not "threats" of any kind.
The only possible threats they could be looked at as are LEGAL threats.

He also thinks that he is pretty sly and efficient.

A fact is that Bill clearly has too much time on his hands since he is looking up people on the internet and getting into things that aren't his business.

What Bill DOESN'T know...is the element of surprise.
The fact that Anandtech moderators release confidential information is something that was just brought to my attention.
Other aspects are what I am currently looking into that will be a serious problem for Bill, his business, etc.

I suggest you all just wait and stop the back to back B.S. It doesn't mean anything. My apologies for partaking.

The mods aren't handing out IPs or personal info. :roll: You leave electronic footprints everywhere you go and it's all tied together by usernames, the info in your profile, links in other threads, whatever. It doesn't take a mod or a genius to look that data up.

Accusing of the mods of something they didn't and would never do isn't the best of ideas.

Before accusing the "mods" of releasing confidential information you should get your facts straight. Yes, we have released what you refer to as confidential information in the past but only to the appropriate authorities when requested.

I don't think so.

The information obtained by Mr. Sobel this morning was up to the second.
He had real time information that he wasn't just pulling out of his ( ).
There's much more then that however and it will all be investigated properly.
