Terrascale was the most frustrating instance of AMD shooting themselves in the foot. They had a massive technological advantage and used that to... only produce small chips so as to surrender the performance crown to Nvidia.It was bad for nV. Perf/mm² difference was insane. They had to cut prices almost nearly in half in some cases.
And they bragged non-stop about how awesome their "sweet spot" strategy was. It wasn't. AMD could have had a G80 or R300 moment if they hadn't totally squandered it.
