Needs to be connected to the battery! Don't run it from the radio! Your speakers should be fine, provided you don't push them too hard (and aren't total shit stock speakers.) Do you have the model numbers of the amplifier, and your speakers in the car?

You have no idea what you just did, sir. I hope you're ready to spend some $$

You need to buy a power line. I do not know what amp you have, but you will need a minimum of a 2 guage line going from your battery to the amp for power. Then you will need a ground for the amp.

Does the amp support high-level inputs? That is, can you run speaker wire to the amp? If so, don't use it 😀

You want a radio that has RCA outputs on the back. I doubt yours has them. Time to get a new head unit. Low-level inputs sound much better.

You will also need additional speaker wire to run from the amp to the speakers.

Yeah. Your 20 watt speakers will last about 10 seconds with that amplifier. My guess is that amp is 1000w at 4 ohms (though I doubt peak is 1000w), so you need new 4 ohm speakers.

You will also need a voltmeter to properly tune your amp so you don't clip your amp.

There are 'amplifier install kits' or something of the like that are sold everywhere online. Generally these will give you all you need to get started.
 
based on what I've found on google, you may have the only unit ever produced by them :shocked: First of all, you need to check and see if the thing works. If it has a fault and you hook it up, you may very well fry your speakers just from that.

It really isn't that much work, but I don't know what you're dealing with (and neither do you). I'd hate to see you start the project around an amp that may even belong where you first found it.
 
Assuming its 1000w peak its probably 250w at 4 ohm and 100-125rms watts, so its probably 62.5wx4 peak and 31.25w rms (at 4 ohm). Chances are youll blow your speakers at 1/2 power if they are stock pos, anything more than half and the speakers would sound like crap anyways.
 
I tried to set up a cheap speaker system in my car.
I got a used headunit that I found that had a line-in - costed me $50.
You could get decent speakers for $40/pr, or close to top notch level sound components for $120/pr.
But I'd still expect to spend around $100, and even then, you'd probably wouldn't find anything that'd take advantage of all that power unless you get the component speakers.
