amount of caffeine in coffee versus in tea

Depends on how long you steep the tea, what blend/beans of coffee ...

I'm trying to find the "typical amounts" but having no luck. Lots of soft drink numbers though. 😛

Hmm, well, i guess just your typical cup of columbian coffe versus the rasberry scented tea i'm drinking... nuts no info on the rasberry tea...

"generally" the accepted amount of caffene in a cup of brewed coffee is TWICE that of tea.

NEVER (ever) steep tea longer than 2-3 minutes unless you like stomach upset (tannic acid in tea is used to cure leather) . . . just use MORE tea bags per cup of water (i use 3 bags per cup to get ~100mg caffeine per cup)

I regularily drink tea that's been steeped for way longer than that, and it doesn't upset my stomach. 😕

Same here. Of course, I grew up with tea steeped like that. My grandparents steeped tea to the point it looked as dark as coffee. Anymore, if I'm getting sick or have an upset stomach, a cup or two of really strong tea will help settle my stomach.

i USED to steep tea overnight in the MISTAKEN notion that it contain more caffeine. it caught up to me in my 50s 😛

BTW, i used to live in Dublin, Ireland . . . they regularly BOIL the tea leaves . . . . the joke was: 'if your teaspoon doesn't stand upright in the tea by-itself, it isn''t strong enough" 😛

to get MORE caffein out of tea, simply use MORE tea bags (for the same 2-3 minutes) 😉
