Too late. From the FAQ at http://mywishlist.mylifemycard.com/faqs.html

Can I still submit a wish?
Cardmembers are eligible to submit a wish beginning at 12:00AM ET on November 1, 2006, until 11:59PM ET on November 20, 2006. You need to be a U.S. American Express Cardmember in good standing and 18 years of age or above to be eligible.

Wrong. The contest starts on the 28th.

I am having mixed feelings about this contest. I won a ton of stuff last year (about $4500 worth) and was taxed at the full retail value of the items which ended up being about $1100.

The crappy thing was most of the items could be found on Amazon.com for less than full retail value.

Additionally, since Amex basically "paid" me, they required that I send them my full information including my SSN and tax history for the last 2 years. I could have decided not to send them this info but then they would have cancelled my CCs.

If I play again this year I will only try for items that I really want.

Actually, submitting the wish is different from actually being able to buy the items that people have "wished for", if I recall correctly. Submitting the wish just gives Amex the suggestions as to what to offer.

They only limit the number of wins to 1 major item per day.

They also released prizes 3 times a day and they had hundreds of some items.

Plus they have coupons you can win that are fairly easy to win. Things like 25% off anything at Amazon and 30% things from the Sony store, etc.

i don't know if you need a plug in or if you only get the code to type if you can actually get one, but I never got the code to enter....

I just kept hitting the "I can't read this" link to refresh and it never showed one.....afterwards I just kept clicking the submit with an empty field.

Not me.. I can actually get past the "It's been spoken for" part. It should say "You got it!" if you type in the code in fast enough, but then i keep getting to a page where it says "undefined."

I got this at least 50 times with the Amazon GC and have yet been successful... I just don't understand.

Yeah, the site is a POS. I clicked "I want it" right at 12:00:01 and got an error saying "this is a popular item, click try again". I did, then I got the confirmation box, which was empty. I clicked "I cannot read this" and then got into a never ending cycle where I enter the code and either get "spoken for" or "error enter code exactly as it appears, blah blah" and THEN got the "spoken for" message. I don't see how people are entering the codes in that quickly, there can't be that many typists out there that are that much faster than me, since I type upwards of 75WPM.

Can someone break down the process? Do you have to login first? Or do you just click I want it. Enter a random code they show you to prevent auto systems then enter in your name, address, and AMEX card info? Then it's ordered? I'd like to try for a few items like the Cayman.

^^^

It went down like this, the times may vary depending on item:
- Clicked on "I Want It"
- The code showed up, i then entered this onto the blank box
- It brought me to a page to enter my Name and CC info, it gave me under 2 minutes to do so
- It brought me to another page to enter the rest of my info (e-mail, address, read and agree to terms). It gave me about 4 minutes to do this part
- After the above step, went on to the last page to confirm everything and submit

I got my Amazon 25% cert via e-mail less than an hour afterwards.

Guys, are they giving out the certificates at certain times like last year or keep giving them out throughout the day until they're out?
