To order tickets, you must make a call, how could you call if that is not a US number?

Guess that screws you up bad. Maybe have to wait 'til the day someone invents international telephone dialling ?

Regardless of the above insurmountable problem, the card is in fact currently aimed at UK residents. I saw the leaflets for these cards at various places in the UK on a trip a couple of weeks ago. Maybe it will come to the US one day.

Also note ...

<< The travel bonus offer is for one return trip with companion and is only open to UK American Express green Cardmembers who are originating their travel in the UK, and are aged 18 and over. >>

Wow, someone went through a lot of trouble to make an entire website just to pull off an april fool's joke. It looks real and everything. Multiple working links, lists all the benefits, but come on we all know the UK is a myth and doesn't really exist.

You also forgot to mention the UK airport service charges that they tack on each way to your £99 fare...

The £99 fare is subject to tax and Passenger Service Charges that vary by departure and destination airport, e.g. £46.90 Gatwick to Rio (correct at time of print).

Between the airport duties and the VAT for UK residents, the £99 price easlily doubles. For U.S. folks, you paying the equvalent of ~ $275.00 at a conversion rate of $1.44 US to £ using the £99 fare and a tarrif of £46.90 each way as quoted in the example above from their TOS.:(

Yep, yours was better ;)

I think you should forward your idea to AMEX; tell 'em YOUR green card is the one we want here in th US !! Or they could at least make it available to AT'ers :)
