If you haven't already heard about this card, hurry up and get one...Here's the biggest reason why

- 60 Day Price Protection
You buy now with Blue and if you see the item advertised for less anywhere else (including on the web), they will refund the difference (via check mailed to you) up to $250 for that one item...For a maximum of $1,000 per year.

There's plenty other reasons, but I won't spam here about them (you can get all the info at Amex Blue Info site

Here's a common method of getting an excellent price WITHOUT having to wait for something to ship.
1. I bought Empire Earth at CompUSA for $49.99 (Plus 5% tax)
2. I find the game for $37.90 a few days later at www.gogamer.com
3. Call Amex Blue Price Protection (800-322-1277) and put in a claim for price protection
4. I have to send them (I use a fax machine) a copy of the receipt and a copy of the webpage where I found the price
5. They adjust prices ONLY, they don't take shipping or taxes into account...So that's $49.99 minus $37.90 = $12.00

So: I bought at $52.50($49.99 + 5%) then get $12 back. final price $40.50. Whereas if I had bought online at $37.90 + $5 shipping would've = $42.90

Now, a few more days later I find a price of $19.99 at Amazon.com. So I'll put in another Claim and they'll again give me the difference (from $37.90).

Here's the NOT so hot part...Their fax machines are either always busy, or just plain NOT WORKING! Like for the passed week I've been trying to fax my claim over (another note; make ABSOLUTELY sure you write your claim number on EVERY page you fax over) but I can't get through. I keep calling them and telling them this, but they say the line is probably busy and to keep trying...Which is BS, I know the difference between busy and not working.

So, the moral of this story is...Amex Blue Kicks butt, BUT you need to MAKE SURE you're claims are getting through properly and in a TIMELY MANNER, if your claim takes a few days to get to them and the item you printed out is no longer being offered at that price?...You're SOL.

Try the 800 fax number during off hours. If that doesn't work and you don't mind paying the toll, use their other number to fax in your claim (303)384-1906.

I don't know when the last time that you tried this buy one day and PM the next, but BVG is cracking down on this type of behavior especially if the store already has a PM policy and you are within their allowable PM time frame. In the past BVG would PM just about everything at any time, but the constant abuse of this benefit will force BVG to continue to place additional restrictions on the benefit. If you are going to do a PM at least wait until the PM olicy timeframce from the store that you pruchasd the item has expired or you may be disappointed.

I have a question on PMing. What do you have to email/fax/mail them? Do you need just your invoice and a copy of the competitors ad?
Do you also need to send them your credit card statment.

You can make more than one claims for the same item within 60 days. I did not know that.

Anyone else can confirm?

Yes, you can make more than one claim within the 60 day period. Also, email is the best way to submit your documentation for your claim since it goes directly to the examiners.

Although AMEX warned me that their fax system is often busy, I didn't have any trouble getting getting through on the first try for the four different price matches I submitted in the last 3 months. Guess I was just lucky...

What I want to know is---what happens if you submit a price match, then the low-price vendor changes (raises) their price AFTER you've submitted the info? I pricematched a Minolta Dimage 7 to good ol' Regency Camera; a few days after I submitted the fax to AMEX, the price shot up by almost a hundred bucks. Still waiting for the check from AMEX so I don't know how they'll handle it yet. Anyone run into problems?

"Still waiting for the check from AMEX so I don't know how they'll handle it yet. Anyone run into problems? "

I only experienced a price dropping after faxing my Nikon Coolpix 995 documents, didn't make any difference since the original price difference is already over $250. But the fax went through smoothly on my first try and I did two PM in two days, both worked out.

I think everyone better get on these PM's asap. I have a feeling this program won't be around too much longer.

2 weeks ago, when I PM'd a Nikon camera, I had an interesting discussion with one of the reps. When I told her I was PM'ing with Regency Camera, she asked "why is it that everyone PM's with this company? Why don't they just buy from there in the first place?" I said that I had just found the lower price at Regency when surfing around and left it at that.

I asked about how/why they were so busy and she told me that everyone is using this program a lot now, and that most people are not using it as intended. She said she thinks most poeple are getting 3-4 prices on the net, and then deciding where to buy, and that wasn't what the program was meant for.

Then I asked if she saw any changes in the program coming soon, and she said, yes, they are re-working it as we speek.

No good news at all. Wished I had gotten in for that CITI card while they were still taking applications.

Oh well. Take this for what's its worth...

If you find a price difference that is more than $250, will they give you the $250 max?
I'm asking because I found an HDTV with a $500 discrepency, but the more expensive price is from a more reputable retailer, so I'd rather buy it from them.

Also, there's no problem is I buy the item from a B&M retailer and price-match it with an online retailer, is there?

Thanks
