AMEX Blue and 'grey market' items

I'm going to be doing some buying with my Blue card and was wondering if AMEX will PM the 'crooklyn' shops that sell stuff with the international or store warantee (not USA). The woman I spoke with at amex indicated that a matching sku would do the trick. I just wonder if they actually check for where the warantee is offered. Though that brings up another question...do USA and grey market items use the same SKU's?
 
And another question...does the additional warranty added by using an Amex apply to grey market items that aren't normally covered by the US warranty?
