I've got a 713P. take it back if you can. It sucks. Here is my email to tech support. They were never able to resolve the issue and just recommened that I look over their home page and try to figure it out myself. I asked to speak with a supervisor, they said they were busy. I sent in another email and it was ignored. Never buy dlink. Buy linksys.
note: I tried to submit the message below through your website's form, but due to the problem described below, I could not. I just telnet'ed into my mail server and pasted it in there.
I recently replaced a 4 port linksys router with the DI-713P so I could have a wireless access point. Ever since then I've had an issue with connections timing out. I cannot send email through my mail client because it times out. I have the same problem with submitting forms onwebpages, say email through hotmail, most likely this form, etc. Even clicking links on some webpages will get me "Cannot find server or DNS Error." If so I can go to the command prompt and use nslookup to confirm that the name is resolving. If I connect my DSL modem to my computer and
release and renew IP's it will load just fine. This issue exists on this
computer, my laptop, and another desktop. I just upgraded the unitsfirmware tonight to 2.60 build 2 My dsl has no authentication or maccontrol (I work for them).
On the front of my router the M1 light blinks, the M2 light is solid, the Wan light is solid, and I show a link for each computer that is on. I've reset my router multiple times as well, but when I go through the router, no matter what, I always have these problems. Have I missed something here or might I have a problem with my router?
Also is there a way to set this unit to wireless bridge mode so I can use my linksys unit for routing until the problem is resolved?
Thanks,
John
