Discovery Channel Poll on the best coasters in America

Kind of an amazing poll. (yes, I'm a coaster nut) The part that really impressed me was that Millennium Force took the top most spot with 30% of people choosing it as the best roller coaster in the US. The Magnum XL-200 took second with 21% of voters sounding off as it being their favorite. Not bad really. The interesting part is that no other theme park has 2 coasters in the top 5, and Paramount's King Island, Kings Island, OH has 2 (Beast, rated #4, and Son of Beast, rated #8) in the top 10!

Woohoo! Go Cedar Point! :D

Cedar Point > * for roller coasters.

Paramount Canada's Wonderland has been slacking off and putting in crappy rides lately... hopefully they'll build a new coaster soon. :(

Speaking of classics, I'd like to see them revive some of the lost rides from Conney Island. Now those were classic!

The Hulk is so amazingly fun to ride.

It has the best start also... you get launched out of a tunnel 0-60 in like 1 second.

The Incredible Hulk is only good from the front seat. Rode in the back the second time, and it was downright boring.

Kennywood has by far and away the best wooden coasters ever, especially the thunderbolt. But I'm sure 99% of people have never even heard of them.

Oh well, that is probably a good thing. Kennywood has managed to keep itself as a high quality establishment without going ridiculously commercial like the rest of the parks. You get off of a ride at Universal, and you are immediately lead into a gift shop. Disgusting.

I heard they just closed their doors for good.

Best Job I ever had was working on a roller coaster at Six Flags Great America in Chi-town (well Gurnee but who ever heard of that)

Batman the ride when if first came out (1st hanging coaster) was DOPE but I still love the old Woodies like The Beast at Kings Island.

Out of the list I've only been on the Hulk. The 1st time was definitely the best because the jump start was unexpected.

One of the awesome things about growing up in OH was having Cedar Point and Kings Island a short drive away.

Out of that list I've only been on Goliath and Ghostrider and I'm amazed both are on there. I picked Ghostrider because it's the best wooden coaster I've been on - Goliath is nice too, but I think it could use a loop or something here and there.

Only coaster I've been on in the list is Ghostrider, smoothest wood coaster ride ever. Though the line gets last place for most twists, turns, and annoyances.
