Last night, Hawaii not only elected Japan-born Mazie Hirono to be the first ever Asian-American woman elected to the Senate, they also elected Democrat Tulsi Gabbard as the first ever practicing Hindu to the US House of Representatives. Hawaii has been declared a
Fox News Disaster Zone.

this is great news! a Hindu congresswoman, a Japanese woman Senator, and a black president. makes me feel proud to be a minority. 🙂

edit: and she did a tour in Iraq. way to go woman!

Cool, I just hope that one day stuff like this won't be news. But progress is progress.

It's kind of hard to argue the borders issue these days. I'm mean, I'm sure it's something we'll always have, but heck, people are people. You log onto Xbox and play video games with people from New York, Australia, London, and Germany all at the same time. You go on eBay and buy cheap electronics from China. You can video-Skype with someone in Japan for free instantly. I grew up in a pretty mixed school and, fortunately, race was never really a big issue there. Racism seems to be becoming a pretty old-school idea

Oh look, more non-news.

That's kind of funny.

Hahahaha

In Canada, this is nothing new thanks to the combined forces of Brampton and Surrey. You don't even get a choice of voting for non-Indians there. 😛

Politics and news in one post, if only we had a forum for this type of situation.

P.S. Feel free to respond why this post is special and should be in this forum because that will be a refreshing change of pace. 🙄

Thank you. I got fucking roasted for saying people can (and should) be proud of the accomplishments of people in their race. Glad to see people see it the proper way here on this forum.

1. If you're taking anything SandEagle says seriously, you're in trouble.
2. You should be roasted for being proud of 'people in your race'. It's another thinly veiled type of racism. Instead, you should be proud of people. Drawing the differentiation of race is where racism begins, proud or not proud.

So a black person can't be proud that Barack Obama was elected president? Sandeagle's OP also the same?

I'm not saying one race is superior to another, you can be proud of your son and not feel that they are superior to your daughter. Racial pride is not the same as racial superiority.

I'm neither a fan of SandEagle or Democrats (and pretty much ALL republicans for that matter), but I think this is a great post, and in the proper forum.

Thank you for pointing this out. Want to tell us who is passing notes in class as well?

SandEagle has been posting news items almost daily on ATOT for years, not for political debate but for trolling and entertainment purposes.
Today he's trolling for Angry White Men. Looks like he got a nibble 😉

Oh my God, increase military and NRA spending because Christianity is fighting a three front war from within. The evil internal opposition is stocking up on wasp spray. Our only hope now is to stop having a hissy fit about our Hispanics.

If we don't stop them, next thing we know we will be electing more females and even openly gay and Lesbian legislators.

Just don't stand there when it is clearly time for Panic Panic Panic. And while we are at it, we need to abolish woman suffrage, and make sure more clear thinking men like Todd Akins and Richard Murdock dominate all three branches of America's government. That way we can be just like the Taliban.
