I just like to point out the obvious for people, like yourself, who suffer blindness from extended
narrow-mindedness.

And I thought my blindness came from not stopping xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx like my mother said :D

Silly Christian!

The 9/11 perpetrators used the airliners and their 20,000 pound fuel loads as flying bombs, a pre-packaged form of napalm. Hence the term Bomber, feel free to call it what you want.
I'd feel a lot more comfortable with the comparison to a missile rather than to a bomb.

Unfortunately, the word missile doesn't transfer so cleanly into a verb (as bomber = one who bombs) :(

Yes that is a personal insult, I am insulting your reasoning skills. The terrorists will find a way to terrorize people if they really want to, and the US must find a balance between prudent security measures and intrusive changes in life. I consider not being allowed to walk in the front door of my government's capitol building, extremely intrusive and superficial.

The aim of terrorists is to instill fear in the lives of their victims. If we excessively change our lifestyles in response to this, they have accomplished their mission. I don't want to live in fear behind walls with guards everywhere like the Israelis. I'd much rather be proactive, hunt down terrorists to kill or try them. Also, work within reason to remove the grievances that Muslims have that contribute greatly to animosity and terrorist recruitment against us, as part of an attempt to win the hearts and minds of Muslims to end the terrorist threat from that region.

Just as the terrorists aim to instill fear in us, many in the US hope for Americans to remain fearful for various reasons. Be it political, i.e. I am the only one who can protect you, or economic in the case of defense contractors who undeniably have an interest in perpetual conflict and fear-driven-security measures. For America to not become a sniveling coward police state, we must work against the fear-mongers at home and abroad.

i tend to think that good old Ben was hoping to educate people on the importance of freedom, but unfortunately i think other interpret it as encouragement for fear mongering the populous into giving up their rights.

If you were to listen to the Administration they would have you cowering in a hole wrapping your head in plastic and duct tape.

The horror of 9/11 aside, an American's odds of being killed by a terrorist are extremely remote. There are probably a 1000 (maybe 10,000) other things you are more likely to die of. Should we be cowering from these as well? It is a stronger probabilty you will die in a car crash on the way to work, so should I just stay at home? But then the house might burn down, so that's not safe. Stay outside and you could freeze, or catch disease, get eaten by a wild animal or some homical maniac who would turn your skin into a coat.....Oh my!

I am not advocating complacency, but a little realism and perspective. 100M soldiers and police officers wouldn't be able to stop some nut who wanted to kill someone. They can't even stop the sniper in Ohio, and long did the DC snipers run around for until they were caught? Work to close security loopholes that easily would allow a huge disaster like 9/11 again, but we can never stop them all.
To try and kill them all would not be an effective strategy, as they would just breed like rats. We must work to remove their homicidal/suicidal motivations, and crush any of those who would not care to reform.
