36k out the door (in 2009), 10k~ down, the rest I doubled payments each month. Lots of disposable income as a dorm rat. My APR was very low as well.

MIL specifically is 75, I'm 40 (as is the SO). Technically not married but after 15 years it's mostly irrelevant.

ah. For some reason I had you pegged as much older than me or at bare minimum the same age. I'll probably be retiring within the nxt 5 years and sell this place and most of my assets here and move back home and retire in the country side. less a chance of getting shot up you know.

Fair, I cheated and moved to the country early. WFH so I get to do housework in my underwear between meetings and tickets.
