American Telecom E30025CL DECT 6.0 4 Handset Cordless phone w/answering machine

I bought this last fall for a little less AR & coupon. Kind of cheap feeling (light plastic) but surprisingly powerful features. E.g., you can use as an intercom and 'buzz' a specific handset. Or you can use 2 handsets as intercoms at the same time another person is using a third as a regular phone. Reception is very good (distance & clarity), and the 250 free long distance minutes were an extra bonus. Only the main unit needs a phone jack, the other three just need an electrical outlet.

Hard to beat for $30 🙂

I did the staples version a while back and ended up returning. The voice quality and range were pretty good and features were good too. The problem I had was the lack of a headset jack. Sure there was a speaker phone (that worked very well) but the way the handset was designed it was hard to position. The speaker was on the back of the hand set and the handset was not in a shape that would stand up. I had to balance it on it's side. When I spend hours in conference calls, I need either a headset or a better speaker phone set up.

Granted mine was a slightly different model but you may want to check it out for yourself

Pros:
- Price
- Range and voice quality
- features and handsets

Cons:
- no headset jack
- awkward speaker phone usage
- No 'belt clip"

No headset jacks, but this version does have a belt clip for each handset...

For $20 or $30 might be worth buying these for intercom ability and broad home coverage (a phone in 4 different places) along with a good headset phone for those longer conversations (that's what I've got)....
