After reading the story, I can't feel bad at all. It's a safe bet that if you regularly commit armed robbery, you're not going to die in your sleep at age 80

I agree, you make the choices that you make and should accept the consequences. But, yeah, I think it's tacky to cheer his death. The guy made some terrible mistakes, probably was poor growing up and desperate. NOT to say that he should be given a free "mug old people!" card... But did he deserve to die? Not really. Did the elderly fellow act wrongly? Not at all - he was defending himself. Kudos to him and his peers for standing up for themselves. I just don't find it especially funny that some punk died over something so trivial.
 
I am not surprised they are not pressing charges beyond the obvious self-defense angle.

Many poor countries that depend on American tourist dollars are notoriously harsh on criminals who prey on tourists. You do not want to be a Bahamian native caught assaulting a tourist. I imagine the Ticos are likely to follow a similar approach to law enforcement.

I will add that I have "mad respect" for seniors - if those punks tried to mug a bus load of college aged tools the kids wouldn't have sh1t their pants. The older generation gets teased all the time but they lived through so much more than we did and are a much tougher group of people than the wusses the U.S. is churning out now. Yes, I'm one of them - I was mugged once, i gave the punk my wallet while trembling, hoping that knife wouldn't end up in a vital organ instead of even considered whooping the fvcktards ass. We're all wusses, let's be honest here.
