I also am one that has problems fitting into japanese cars. I'm 6'1 and go 200 pounds, but I have a 34" leg measurement. I can't fit my knees under the steering wheel. It also requires a contorsion act to get my long legs and size 13 feet out of the damn thing.

I've tried subaru's, maximas, accords, and a mazda 626, all with the same problem. The tilt steering column stops about 6 inches too short. I can't easily get my foot to the gas/break pedal without hitting my knees on the steering wheel. My monte carlo doesn't have this problem.

Most american car's steering columns go twice as high as your japanese cars.
