Ok, I don't follow the show or anything but I just hear a few of their songs after they released an album. Seems they all have maybe one or two songs that's good or okay and you never hear about them again.

The only one I remember having a couple of hit singles was Kelly Clarkson but even she trailed off after her second album. Is it safe to say this is the faith all all future Idol winners?

Fantasia still puts out records, is in a major play and has a reality show coming out. I believe Clay Akins is still popular, I know he technically didn't win but he's still around. Ruben Studdard is still making records, but I think he does gospel now. And uhh isn't Carrie Underwood huge in country music? I don't know much about American Idol but I know I hear all the names I mentioned on a fairly regular basis.

I guess you have no idea who Carrie Underwood is then. She is about as far away from a one hit wonder as you get. I don't even listen to Country music and I know about her.

Clay Aiken, Fantasia, and Reuben all have their niches. But only Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood have made it big in the mainstream.

Aside from Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, all the Idols are pretty much jokes. They have their fans, but so do indie stuff that had to find their own labels, and not get nearly as much exposure.

A number of them are cashing in, so that's what counts. Even "Glambert" with his tone-deaf ear cringing sound is making some good cash. Go figure.
