Mark McGrath. Singer from Sugar Ray. My guess is that he's just on this episode and maybe the next one before they go to Hollywood. I've seen the end of many American Idols waiting for 24 to come on and they always had some celebrity judge on them.
 
they should do a separate show for people over 28 yrs of age. it might be interesting to see as voices don't really fully mature until mid 30's.

The thing that pisses me off about this show is the judges favor a very narrow style of singing. The winners are always people who sing pop standards well. Any time someone tries to sing something different or alternative or out of the main stream the judges slam them. Then they push through one "rocker" to round out the final 10 but the rocker will never win. The judges always come down on the "rockers" and so the pop kids who watch the show don't vote for them. :roll:

I want to see someone get to the final 10 and then sing a Metallica classic or maybe Led Zeppelin or Korn.

This guy needs to disappear... his band was a one-hit wonder and he's only getting by on looks at this point... he hosts one of the tabloid shows every night too... thankfully this is just a 1-night thing for him.

one of my friends that goes to school with me made it to hollywood. it never showed her singing but it showed her blowing a kiss with her paper in her hand.(it was the series of people that was shown coming out with papers, she was the last one before the commericial. brunette.)

Well considering they're offering a contract for a pop solo artist, it doesn't make alot of sense to get someone that follows that style you're talking about

I worked with a girl who flew 1200 miles to be on one of these. I overheard her doing a little practice singing a few days before she left, and didn't have the heart to tell her there was no way she would make it. Besides which, that would have robbed me of the opportunity to see Simon mock her.
 
I just don't understand how some of these people don't understand they suck at singing. They must be incredibly stupid which makes this show unbearable to watch for me, not because OMG I HATE POP MUSIC AND EVERYTHING POPULAR BECAUSE IM COOL AND UNIQUE but the sheer stupidity frustrates me.

When they hear themselves sing, they think they are in tune and hit the right notes. And of course, none of the family members and friends would hav the balls to tell them they cant sing, instead they support the person....which makes everything worse....and then the person goes on for audition....well u know the rest
