Just watched all 6 vids. This is my take.

Adam:

mad world - wtf, he sings it great, but I find it kinda sad he decided to go with a smokey grand entrance. Its a humble emo song, and is a contradiction and distraction when he goes 'big stage and lighting' with it.

change is gonna come: there's very little natural r&b soulfulness in adam, but he started out well. Unfortunately he had to go 'rock screaming' with it, making it a fairly painful performance.

no boudaries: If you tuned in to hear him scream, this song is for you. I thought it was very good, but sounded like a cliche movie soundtrack rendition.

Kris:

Ain't no sunshine: Top notch 'Kris' performance, heartful and moving. Not spectacular because Kris isn't spectacular, but solid.

what's goin on: Painful. Kris brings lyrics alive with his heartful interpretations, but interpreting away from one of the greatest most soulful interpretive singers that ever existed was worse than any of adam's screams (almost). Sucks he got stuck with this one.

no boundaries: Not spectacular, but flawless, sincere, and moving. As far as what people like in Kris, including me, this nails it.

Winner: Kris

epilogue: Adam won't lose because he's gay but because he doesn't get what qualities people love (and hate) about his singing, and prefers to focus on presence and theatrics. Kris doesn't hold a candle to Adam's best, but since Adam seemingly has no clue how to (or doesn't want to) bring out these strengths, he's shot himself in the foot against a singer that's consistently gained credibility throughout the contest.

What a "meh" final pairing episode - they both performed well for the first two songs, but I was still underwhelmed and then that damn "hurricane" song came on (stupid Kara) and I almost turned the TV off.

I'm actually not going to be able to watch the finale show, but I'm going to try to catch the announcement of the winner. I honestly have no idea who it's going to be - I've always like Adam, but Kris has definitely turned it up a notch and his likability combined with his ability to write/arrange and play instruments makes for a strong commercial artist. I guess we'll see!

I was not blown away by the finale. Adam never got into his crazy wild rocking side tonight (Like when he did Satisfaction and whatever song he did on the Slash week). Kris was about what I expected, pretty solid, nothing really over the top awesome. I think Kris is going to pull it out actually. I don't think Adam cares at this point...although I'm sure they both want to win. Kris' first song was probably the best of the night. That horrible song at the end made me want to turn it off. Not b/c of bad singing...they both did what they could with it...but b/c of the cheesey lyrics and the genericness of the song. Seriously, that thing is horrible!

I didn't realize Kara wrote 'no boundaries'. I think its moronic to have two singers of very different styles have to sing the same song, especially as the last song, not to mention one that a [myopic] judge wrote. The finals should be whatever 3 songs each wants to showcase.

The final performance always has both finalists sing a song specially written for the show. That song is released as a single soon after the season ends.

That being said, that song absolutely sucks! I feel bad for whoever wins because that stupid song is going to get played over and over on Top 40 radio. I thought it was easily the worst thing sung since Top 11 was announced.

They usually have a songwriter competition every year where people can submit their entries to be that final song, but I guess they just let Kara do it this year.

Oh, I should also mention that I HATE Kara, and she is the one of the reasons I've not really watched the show that much this year. If she's back again next year, then it'll probably be the same. I really don't care to see her try and out-sing auditioners, or get noticeably pissed when the audience will knowingly boo her bad feedback, or tells Simon to shut up, or any other number of highly annoying things she does.

About one hour left!

I never got in to vote. I kept going until Midnight and said screw it. I guess I'll experience a "vote" next year.

It doesn't matter since Adam will win this by a landslide anyway.

That was a fun little number to start the show off. Who let Jorge Nunez in? j/k

I've missed watching Scott being led around the stage. Megan's dance skills are lacking but amusing.

I kept trying to ogle Alexis during that whole scene. I thought it was pretty lol seeing Scott led around again.
