I would never listen to or buy an album from anyone on AI as they are all pretty bad :p My main concern is : who sings on tune? They are supposed to be singers and yet many of them ahve trouble maintaining proper pitch. I watch the show only as a social thing. isn't it sad that today's music is the result of survey? The concept is nauseating.

That has nothing to do with the concept of "good." That is the concept of "trendy."

David A does nothing but slaughter songs, mercilessly mangling the melody and adding pointless runs. I have to give Cook credit for the arrangements that aren't directly attributable to someone else (other than Baba O'Riley, too slow and stretched out).

Actually, he has the best pitch on the show. Cook has poor pitch. As did Brooke and that oriental looking girl. Syesha is weak also.

Did you ever hear of WB's AI parody? They picked bad singers, and the worst one. It was quite amusing :D

Pitch does not a good singer make ;)
By "mangling the melody" I mean pointless alterations that add nothing to the song.

Bad pitch makes an even worse singer though

You know, I just thought the other day... do they fix the results in a round-about way? A couple comes over to watch AI with me and my wife (they are who I was referring to when i said AI is social for me), and I asked them if they had ever called in to vote. they said they tried once for about and hour but could not get through to vote. This got me thinking (a little): Is it possible that the execs give more telephone bandwidth to the contestant that they want to win (the one they perceive will sell more albums)?

IMO that's because the guy is as dumb as a stump. I don't he even really knows what's going on. This week was Rock and Roll Hall of Fame week...and in his little interview deal, he says he actually knew a few songs. A FEW??? i'm not in music, and really don't consider myself a music buff by any means...and even I know the words to 100s, probably 1000s of the songs from artists in the RnR HOF.

yep, he's a total goofball. he even has these goofy expressions when he's singing. i can see him just fading away now.

I think a David A. album will be so sirupy as to give someone brain cavities.

he's like the solo version of Nickelback. every single song is going to sound the same.

you are really accurate with your observations.

Analog Heart, I picked it up on Amazon before they took it down a few weeks ago. I think it's a fantastic albulm.
