So it's not the number of people killed that matters, just the intent? That makes 50k car deaths the cost of doing business, and 10k gun deaths a crime against humanity? I don't agree with your math. Dead is dead. Getting shot through the heart or torn in half in a wreak carries all the same consequences for me and my family. There is absolutely no functional difference.
You accept fifty thousand deaths as acceptable because you're in a hurry, and decry the ten thousand deaths as completely unnecessary, even though the majority of those deaths are self inflicted.
