American Dad has been the #1 show I look forward to on Sunday nights for a while now. I will however be the first to admit that it's been less funny as of late compared to the other seasons, but as many others have alluded to it's almost always a breath of fresh laughs after some of the rotten Family Guy episodes it follows. The last few weeks have been good for both shows so maybe they get back on track, but even SUGGESTING getting out the axe for AD is ridiculous. Once Cleveland's show comes around we'll see where both are at. I know no one wants to get rid of Family Guy but if the Cleveland Show follows in the same vane as it then why keep both? So we'll see.

Whoa, Cleveland is getting his own show? That sounds like a terrible idea; he is a great supporting character, but I can't see him as a lead, and not because he's black, I'd say the same thing if it were the crippled guy.

I'm with you. I never liked the idea of a spin-off in general let alone one that centers around Cleveland, who in my opinion is the weakest of all characters next to someone like Mort. But still, I like almost everything Seth does so I cannot in good conscious reject it based solely from the premise, just hoping he has a trick up his sleve that makes it work.

Well, ATOT has the opposite opinion of mine as usual :p - Family Guy I still like (thought the Bird is the word episode would be the shark jumper but they've had some good episodes since then, including last night's episode).

i never liked american dad, but i think the guy stretches himself for material between both shows and that one of them should get the axe.

I still think American Dad is great. I haven't watched a single Family Guy episode since the Bird is the Word ep - the show has been steadily getting worse and that episode was the last straw for me.

One thing about American Dad, I wish they'd play more on Stan's right-wing political views more like they used to do in earlier episodes. His character doesn't even seem to have a strong political opinion anymore, which I thought was one of his funnier characteristics. Also, there have been a few Family Guy-like moment lately (totan randomness, like that Koala bear in the helicopter and the turtle/rabbit scene). Leave the utter randomness to Family Guy, I like American Dad for it's more coherent progression and not having to resort to pure weirdness for a laugh.

I've liked american dad more than family guy recently. Just seems that the show has more places to go and that family guy is always stuck in the same pattern where the only funny parts deal with brian and stewie. I also think that Roger is hilarious, pretty much any scene with him cracks me up.
