America is the greatest country on earth!

If there is one thing we can take away from this thread it's that most Americans have a burning need to 'feel' like we're the best (at everything) even when presented with evidence to the contrary.

As a nation we seem to have small penis syndrome. 🙂

i disagree. i'd rather go live in aruba if i could get employeed there.

Your poll and question are not valid, because in order to give a true answer, you should live in all the other countries in the world, and then see which one is the greatest. You can't judge other countries based on CNN and NBC reports. Besides, "greatest" is too simple a word to describe a country.

The day we get universal health care will be the day we take a GIANT step in the direction of being the greatest country on earth.

Until then, we are criminally capitalistic IMO.

Universal health care, like the kind France has? The kind that lets people die waiting to get the surgery they need? No thanks!

I'd like to hear from people who have lived in America, and also lived in another country as an adult. I know quite a few people who have lived in both Canada and the US, and its funny because they all think the US is better. And yet all you ever hear from Canadians is that they've got it so much better, free healthcare and all that. Canadian's that move to America usually find out that their country isn't as great as they thought, and that the US isn't as bad as the hugely biased media there portrays it.

I love America and I am grateful that I live in such a place. I do however have troubles with some of the decisions made by our government and certain things about the culture/lifestyle/people. But thats not to say I would not find some problems in any country I lived in.

EDIT: why does it have to be the "greatest"? I like to think of it as a great nation that I love to live in. But one of the things that I do dislike about America is that many people who live here have this mentality that America is the "greatest nation in the world" and that no other country matters. That America has authority over every other country and its way always goes. Its a great country to live in, but other countries are just as great and equal.

USA!!! USA!!! USA!!! US....oh wait, nevermind.
