I'm glad they're dead. It's no different in principle than shooting an armed and dangerous suspect who is in a standoff with the police. If these two terrorists didn't want us to shoot them, they should have turned themselves in or have never incited violence against the U.S.

the point is we dont know he did any of that because he was never tried

So, it's not really a credit to Obama, because he didn't do anything except sign off on the deed. Yet it's all his fault because he signed off on the deed. Just can't make up this kind of priceless shit. 😀

You like that eh? 😀

Its amazing what some people will do to navigate their delusions.

Quite amazing indeed.

BHO didn't do anything here other than give the OK, the minions did all the hard work...scratch that, they did all the work. What credit BHO gets is so minor, it rates no higher than the credit the 'evil' "Bush&Co" get for it as well.

There is nothing to fault with this (unless civilians were killed), a POS got killed that needed killing. That is all. The end.

After he just killed his wife and kid, was the only one in the surrounded off house, I think that'd be pretty safe to say...

Obama just keeps racking up those terrorist scalps, and spending next to no money to do so, compared to his predecessor. That's how it's done, Republicans. That's how it's done.

I don't care if you were the guy who stabbed jesus with a f*cking spear, you deserve a trial like everyone else. If we had a poll of 'Which do you hate more, a Child Rapist or a Terrorist', I'm pretty sure Child Rapist would be the most hated - yet they get a trial. As it should be. If convicted they would probably be killed in prison, as it should be - and if the terrorist happens to be killed in prison as well, so be it. But to say someone doesn't deserve a fair trial.... What the hell is wrong with you people?

edit: Chucky, I've only been in P&N for a little while and I've seen you mention killing people more than is healthy.

What the U.S government needs is recruiting a bunch of people who are willing to put their lives on the line to so that people like Anwar al-Awlaki could have a day in court. Next time, instead of sending a Hellfire missile toward toward somebody's hut, we parachute these courageous people down to arrest whoever is inside the hut, with a proper warrant, of course. Go team!

You don't get to recruit idiots to kill Americans with impunity just because you are entitled to a fair trial IF CAPTURED. There is still a concept of self defense, where America gets to kill people who are actively working to kill Americans, even if those people are themselves Americans. If an American starts shooting people in the streets, the government is allowed to kill him to protect the safety of others, without having a trial first.

Haha, look, I don't think killing people is all that great. But killing people is unfortunately the only realistic way to solve certain problems.

What were the realistic options here?

1.) Have him repent. Not going to happen.
2.) Go and get him, capture or kill. That's going to get your Elite (people the country actually values, unlike this POS) quite possibly killed, with a decent risk of an incident like an Elite captured and then public dissemination of them torturing him, forcing fake confessions, beheading, or just holding him and releasing teaser videos.
3.) Kill him remotely.

If no civilian casualties, who would be F'ing stupid enough knowing what this guy is about and knowing what kind of war we're in to go with option 2, and even if the capture - instead of kill - goes smoothly, go through all the trial BS in a civilian court?

BHO made the right call here (and that's all he did, was make a call, for all you BHO fellate'rs), and then the system that the evil "Bush&Co" setup took care of the rest.

The end.

Damn you Obama for not having the Drones equipped with some sort of net missile that entangles instead of destroys!

The only thing I find more infuriating than the US president extra-judicially assassinating citizens of his own country without trial, is that there are people who defend his actions.

Exactly why couldn't the US have arrested and tried this guy? They obviously had his exact location, and he was within Yemen which is an ally of the US.

I'm only confused why this thread isn't 2 years old. I mean the death order was issued last year... why is this only a problem when it succeeded?

Because the president now in power is a Democrat, and as such he is incapable of doing anything right, or righteous, in accordance with the agenda of the far right.

Well, all I can say to that is that without the OK from Obama, none of this would've happened. In this sense, he made it happen. Without the President's active interest, approval and promotion of the current hunt for terrorists, Bin Laden's demise wouldn't have happened either.

If either of those operations went badly, Obama, and only Obama would have been held responsible for it all. The Repubs and especially the Tea Party would have made absolutely sure of that. So if we want to give partial credit to Bush and Cheney for all of these successes, then they should also share in the blame if anything went wrong, yes?

Besides that, I fully agree with the rest of your post.

I think the dude deserved it, but the legality of it all I don't know enough about. I'd have to do some reading.

Mcveigh was handled by law enforcement, Jihadis outside our borders are handled by military and intelligence services.

Agreed. As a member of Al Qaeda he is an enemy combatant. He has no rights as an american citizen. Besides, he was only born here and left the country until he came back to go to college here. He has no loyalty to the United States. He just used his "citizenship" to get an education then left again.

They already have people like that. It's called our U.S. Military. GO Team!

With this, Obama has the power to label anyone a terrorist and bomb them. He is Putin V2.0. I won't be surprised if the future Republican presidential candidate is suddenly hit with a drone strike, ordered and approved by Obama

Who determines that he has no rights, you, obama,,,,, or someone else?

You know what this is, this is a crime against humanity, just like what happened the native American Indians, Blacks, and the Jews in Nazi Germany.

The government said certain people should be put to death, and the public applauds.

It makes me sick to my stomach that so many people approve of killing a US citizen, and without due process. What is the use in having laws if the government will not abide by them.

haha Obama is pOwning the bad guys

Who gets to determine who the "bad guys" are?

Our nation just stepped back in time 300+ years. When a certain group of people can be labeled, and exterminated, there is no hope.

apparently the us has decided it can murder its citizens without trial as long as it labels them "terrorists"

Republicans better take heed.

Anyone deemed detrimental to the U.S. can be labeled as such and Republican policies are clearly detrimental to the U.S.

I am sure I'm going to be indignant about this guy having his right to due-process denied when the TSA does an involuntary cavity search on me next time I am at the airport because one of his disciples decided that it would be a bright idea to have his ass blown to smithereens, along with hundreds of people on board the airliner he was in, along with probably more casualties on the ground had he succeeded on Christmas day 2009.
