This bill got rushed so fast, that the people who voted yes on it don't even know what's in it... the only reason the house freedom caucus agreed to it is because they basically got rid of the pre-existing conditions clause but all the other idiot GOP members don't seem to know about it because they didn't actually read the bill.

The GOP is so desperate to get rid of Obamacare that they are willing to kill people with a shitty healthcare plan. Unbelievable.

Lie! Fake news! CBO is a nest of communist un infiltrators. It's the best health care bill ever. All my rich friends say it is the best so it must be true. Anyone who says I wanted something different is lying from fake news. This will give everyone who matters health care they can afford.

What are the pre existing conditions that top the list? It is easy to find numbers for obesity but not really anything else so I wonder if that is what we are calculating.

You under estimate the stupidity of the average Republican voter. Meanwhile many people that didn't vote for this will have to suffer.

Yeah this is the part I wish people thought about more. Yes in some ways it's satisfying to read the stories of people who voted for the Republicans saying 'but I thought they were going to cut the programs that helped BAD PEOPLE, not me!' but for every one of those there are probably two people who never voted for this who are just as screwed.

I mean isn't the point to help people, not 'win'?

When 1/3 people don't know the ACA and Obamacare are the same thing a lot of that can be attributed to pure ignorance. The GOP really did their job by branding it Obamacare to convince their faithful it was bad by name alone.

The only pre-xisting conditions that will be covered under the bill will be erectile dysfunction and flat-chestedness among woman. History of heart disease will require a credit check and only those who score 760 and above will be able to receive coverage. Any "lady problems" will also require a credit score check except in the case of pregnancy where the baby is of strong Christian background and looks like the Gerber baby prior to SJW's demanding negroes on the jars.

The Reps just gave the government to the Dems.

We'll see if the Dems are able to capitalize on this. The upcoming special elections will probably give us a decent indication. The ads alone will be brutal.

I think you are giving the American voters too much credit.
This. If the conduct of the GOP had any effect on the voting behavior of the electorate, the GOP would have ceased to exist in 1976. If the policies advocated by the GOP had any effect on the voting behavior of the electorate, the GOP would have ceased to exist in 1984.

Of course, by this standard, the Democratic Party should have ceased to exist in 1868.

The respective parties are indestructible, however power shifts. When someone else gets hurt that's their problem YAY! That changes once people or those they care about are harmed. Then the shit hits the fan.

It's actually per a report by Avalere Health, a consulting firm. I have no idea the degree of bias they have.

Separately, we now get to see what the Senate does. Hopefully things change significantly or they can't get anything passed.

High risk pools are an old failed idea. They've been tried and have always been underfunded. They are basically a fig leaf for politicians who are against the government actually helping the sick to pretend that they are.

Same with the block grants for Medicaid. That's actually the primary driver for the devastating losses in coverage that you see. Poorer red states are going to get absolutely murdered on it.

A partial list of what many insurance companies held as "declinable" prior to the ACA.
