C'mon big green :D.

That doesnt mean anything without knowing how many shares each company has out there.

Well, the market capitals of both companies are as follows.

Intel 149.77B
AMD 8.84B

So, like iamwiz82 said, the current stock price means absolutely nothing. AMD only has 398.36M shares compared to Intel's 6.09B.

by the way, earnings might be worth considering in there
PE:
INTC: 18.56
AMD: 552.50

on that note...time to short amd? I know PE doesn't mean much, but come on

It means that people are finally waking up to the fact that AMD makes a better product and Intel needs to realize that they are no longer the leader in this department!

Exactly. And buying AMD, intel, nvidia or ATI stock just because you like the hardware is not a good investment strategy.

1. Vanguard.com
2. VFINX
3 ??? <-- Buy and hold for years
4. Profit!

or loss of global market share with Intel's monopoly bullying tactics, didn't Japan already found Intel guilty of this?

doesn't change the fact that most people who know what a cpu is and have heard of amd think amd makes cheap, faulty, and poor performing chips

Not many ppl know exactly what a cpu is, they just know the higher the GHz the better the PC will be. Also not sure what you mean by faulty and poor performing amd chips. Any links to back your claims? However AMD does make cheaper chips compare to Intel's.

"Anandtech.com, a Web site that tracks performance benchmarks, compared AMD's Athlon 64 X2 chip to two Intel chips, the Pentium D 840 and the Pentium Extreme Edition 840. AMD prevailed in 38 of 47 of the tests." Link

And Intel has had quarterly profits of $2.0 billion for the past year. While AMD with a $11 million profit the past quarter and losses of $17 and 30 million the prior 2.

But who cares, AMD's stock is nearing Intels!!!!!111111
