This doesn't have any real significance since AMD's market cap is a piss in the bucket compared to Intel.

w00t! AMD's stock is currently at $23.31, Intel is at $23.92
now I'd like to see intel drop down, or AMD go up another couple dollars, and I will be one happy camper
just goes to show: AMD > *![]()

INTC = P/E of 20.77, Market Cap of 151 billion, ~15 Billion in cash with no debt.
AMD = P/E of 53.14, Market Cap of 8.52 billion, 1.19 billion cash with 2.04 billion of debt
If you think these stocks are valued equally you are out of your mind.
AMD > Intel but Intel is much, much, much, much bigger.

No, P4s are the flamethrowers now.Originally posted by: bleuiko
Havn't been looking at CPU progress for a while, but are AMD chips still running hotter than Intel chips?

my system sits under my desk and with some of the older amd's or p4 systems i used to have, the air coming off the box would be warm because of all the heat the cpu generated.
with the amd64, the air is cool even cold leaving me with cold legs in the winter, brrrrrr.
seriously, this sux. now i'm going to have to find room on my desk for my box.
ironically, i used to move my other boxes to the desk because they got too warm, now i'm moving my amd64 box to the desk because it doesn't run warm enough.

You'll notice that I said nothing about the P-M as it isn't a desktop chip. The Pentium-M won't be so cool when they start to look to ramp up the clock speed on them, but I'd guess they'd be on par with or slightly cooler than Athlon 64s.Originally posted by: Pandaren
Fixed that for you, er partially.

And this is surprising? Intel has not come out with anything new (worthwhile) for 18 months.
