AMD's 760 DDR...

It's going to be funny seeing Intel hindereded by subpar Via chipset products. C'mon AMD we want those 760's released now!!!!!
 
Jeez I agree with JJ650, I hope the ATX power placement is just for the alpha silcon.
Looks good though.. Maybe I should hold of on other purchases(like ram) hehe..

 
I love the ATX Power Supply connector position. On my MSI 6309 and on my old BE6 it was on the left of the CPU...I had to loop it under the heatsink/fan. What a mess...

With that board I could just put the connector straight down from the power supply above the mobo. 🙂

It's funny you mention that. The 751 seems to be flawless running the Slot-A T-Birds. This just goes to show that AMD can make some d*mn good chips.

Anyway, I'm anticipating that ALi DDR chipset. IMHO all three chipsets will be quite interesting to see.. though Via has fallen behind in AMD DDR chipset support (ie, coming out later then ALi and AMD).

Looks like a voltage regulator to me...the northbridge and southbridge are in front of th CPU and ahead of the PCI slots respectively.

or if you really want speed, go Adaptec SCSI RAID controller, and Dual Quantum Atlas 10K II
 
I'm trying to be somewhat cost-effective (see GeForce MX versus GTS/Radeon, IDE RAID, etc.). I've priced everything minus the mobo and the mouse (both available in Q4 2000, I hope) and I am under $3K TODAY. Hopefully, they'll be significantly cheaper by the end of the year.

All ideas right now, of course.

I noticed the extra power connector as well. Maybe for more case fans? 🙂

And is AMD naming the mobos after beers? Teceta and Corona. I guess if they work, you celebrate with a cold one. If you run into problems, chug a cold one and forget it for a little while.
