According to ZDnet.de, AMD's new AthlonMP chipset can support multiprocessor configurations with differing clockspeeds. Meaning, the processors DO NOT have to be run at the same clockspeed!

ZDnet.de apparently has set up and taken screenshots of two AMD Athlon processors running together at 1327MHz, and 1194MHz respectively.
The article is here along with a WCPUID screen capture.
Article is NOT in english.

True, but does Intel officially support that?
Definitely not!
And how often is it trouble free when doing that?

This article seems to indicate that MP configurations will be fully supported under different clockspeeds and multiplier ratios.

Is this do in part to amd's dual point to point bus system as opposed to a shared bus system??? Does this allow them to be independent in terms of speed?

My old p-pro dual board wouldn't work without out matched cpus...Was an ASus board...

You could? Since when?

I thought one of the supposed advantages of the 760MP/EV design is that each CPU
is on a dedicated bus to the motherboard. As opposed to the shared bus design
of Intel SMP boards.

As I understand it on Intel boards, you can run different speed CPUs, but the system
will basically treat both as two of the slower CPU.

What will really be impressive is if this design would allow you to run CPUs from
different families, like a Duron with a T-Bird. Since they are all designed around
Socket A.

This will be sweet, I haven't read the article yet. If you can run two differant speed CPUs will you be able to run differant core CPU's. Such as a Duron and a Tbird, or a Duron and Palo, or Tbird and Palo, you get my point?

Can they be overclocked on the tyan board? How about the MPX? could they be on different FSB?
