I bought this combo a couple weeks back.
The board did NOT like my bargain PNY 512MB sticks. (non-stop crashes from the get-go)
I bought some Corsair TWINX2048 XMS DDR400 1GB sticks and it's rock solid.
I haven't fiddled much with OC, but I doubt this bargain board has much in it.
(someone point me in the right direction to get more from this board if I'm wrong)

Set RAM speed to 166, HT to 4x, Vcore to 1.5 or +3.4%. Should also work great with Corsair Value Select RAM. I'd take the ECS board for $25.

???

The BIOS settings only include main frequency, memory speed, and memory voltage.

On a positive note, its AGP slot was compatible with my aged AIW Radeon 7500. (until a PCIe bargain comes along)

if you use 3800 X2 for games, you'll be dissapointed i think. cuz the processor speed is same as A64 3200+ speed, not sure if there are many games out now that take advantage of dual core (probably i dunno).

the 3800x2 is a heavy ocer.

mines at 2.6

Well, that is just an example, of course. There are plenty of other things out there that can be quite taxing on the CPU.

Well I just purchased this combo and I'll be putting it together tomorrow (waiting for my xfx 6800gt) to arrive that I just purchased from the egg. Hopefully the board will be servicable until I can save some more money up to buy a dfi lanparty.

This deal is back again, but this time, no rebate, just straight up $279.99. Kinda ironic that they bundle highend processor with ECS board and this week they bundle a celeron processor with Asus board.

Damn, I have been out of the CPU loop since I purchased my 3500+ Winny last summer. Sure enough I took a look at some benchmarks and the 3800 X2 is a big loser compared to even my 3500 Winny. How can this be? Are there any good articles explaining the difference?

I was going to jump on this but now I am reconsidering especially since AMD is no longer making new chips for socket 939.

If you check Outpost.com next week they'll probably have the same deal. Haven't tried the mobo yet, and dont really plan to.
