While I haven't looked at socket 939 motherboards enough to help you in that respect, I can give you 2 pieces of info.
1. I noticed you referred to the CPU as athlon 64 3.5, I assume you are referring to the Athlon 64 3500+(if I am wrong, I appologize)This chips actually speed rating is 2.2Ghz. I am not sure if you knew this or not, it can be a common mistake with AMD's PR ratings. The 3500+ they list is how that CPU would compare to some other CPU(I think they claimed thier old K7 CPU's, but I am probablly wrong)but in reality, that number is basically saying that CPU should compare nicely to the P4 at 3.5Ghz. This is due to the AMD CPU being more efficent. So don't think its any slower then a 3.5Ghz P4, just because it runs at a slower Ghz, just try not to confuse the actual speed with AMD's PR rating.
2. Secondly, I am not sure if its worth waiting for, or if you would consider PCI express or not, but supposedly the nVidia nForce 4 motherboards supporting PCI express should be out pretty soon. I think they should be anounced in the next couple of weeks, with boards available later in the year.
