AMD64 4000+ - Best Core?

Okay, so I'm planning on buying an AMD Athlon 64 4000+ processor for the new system I'm putting together. On NewEgg, they have a boxed/retail version and an OEM version for the 4000+. The retail version says it is Sledgehammer and the OEM says it is Clawhammer. The OEM is also about $100 more. Which one of these is better all-around and also for OCing, or does it make any difference at all? Worth the xtra $100? Also, if I buy the retail version, can you take the heatsink/fan off or will it damage the processor? I don't really care about the warranty, so that is a non-issue. Thanks!

It's a typo, they're both Clawhammers. You could save half the cost of that 4000+ by getting a 3500+ and you probably wouldn't notice the difference.

So, from what I read, the San Diego core is coming out on Tax Day (April 15th)? The question is how much more it will cost than the Clawhammer cores. The 4000 Clawhammer is already stretching the limits of my wallet 🙂

I'm wating for the 3500+ San Diego (2.0GHz, 1MB L2) to come out. It'll give the best of both worlds; 1MB L2 Cache, and also great overclocking, if the Venice pattern is continued that is.

When does this CPU come out and where can you get it...I have looked a little but can't find it...I have been interested in the 4000+ as well.
