Can someone comment on this rebate? If the rebate is solid, then this deal is HOT. You basically get the mobo for free (and then some).

EDIT: You should put AR in title

Hmm another thing that might prove to be a problem is the fact that unless the order is placed now and processed before the workers leave for the weekend, tigerdirect may not process the order until 11/01/04 makind the rebate invalid?

Never heard of onrebate.com
They are running the rebate. Not tigerdirect or asus or AMD.

No if you buy today you will be eligable for rebate. Once you buy with in the rebate date it is valid no matter when you recieve your product. And with in 30days of the date of purchase you have to mail the rebate.

Where does Mwave have the same bundle for $282? Just looked and with the Asus MB and a 3500 it is $409. CPU alone is $282.

I think OneRebate was started by TigerDirect, but that's just my impression/feeling...I have nothing to back it up.

I received my AMD employee purchase bundle rebate (handled by OnRebate) 5 weeks after I sent in for it with zero problem.

wtf? the mobo is socket 939 right? "Processor Interface: Socket 939" and the proc. "Processor Socket: Socket 939" this is a 3500 right? it says 2.2GHz and 512k...and i don't think any tigerdirect rebates are very good

I'm glad someone else noticed this. I thought AMD has not released a 3400 for the 939 socket yet. Could Tiger be slipping us a 754 proc. that will not work in the 939 Asus? Am I braindead missing something obvious here?

Well this kit is sitting behind me right now. I will be hooking everything up on Saturday and let you all know what the deal is.

Of course it will probably take me the next 6 months to find out how OnRebate handles the $100 rebate but thats another story...

After spending 5 hours setting it up I have nothing, nada, zippo...I ended up going to the latest bios but when I enter the bios, and save changes it won't reboot.

Well....If I clear the cmos it will post and then whine about "Cmos checksum failure" and "Date and time not set". If I go into the bios (F1) and then save it (f10) it won't reboot. My monitor just goes into powersaving. A friend of mine had a post tester and it was showing code 28 which for AMI bios' means in the video section. I tried a second AGP video card but that didn't help.

Doesn't that mobo have built-in video? Try setting the BIOS to use it as first video source instead of the AGP slot. Or did you try that combo already?
