AMD1000 brought to knees by.... ATI Video In Program?!

Using the Microsoft AMPCAP program to watch TV using the aux in on my ATI Radeon 64MB DDR, processor resources barely change from normal.

When using the ATI program, however, processor usage peeks and the system becomes almost unusable! I was under the understading that the ATI Radeon performed onboard processing and didn't burden the system heavily?

Just an off the top of my head reply.

ATI Radeon does MPG2 decoding for DVD. And only if you use their DVD player software or the one made by the people who made the software for ATI -> Ravisent.

Which version of the ATI software are you using?

Are you using the GART of ATi or the GART of VIA?

I installed the Via 4-in-1's followed by the latest ATI drivers.
