<< At Santa Clara I missed by one digit at least three times.

The dudes throwing the shirts need to throw farther. Who hires these guys? They should need to throw 50 yards to get the job.

I think Troy Aikman is looking for a Job;)

Those should be nominated girl friends of the year. Where would you find cute girls that'll wake up at 5:30am and go with you to a geeky event like this? Geez, some guys are just so lucky... ;)

I was thinking the same thing about the handful of females in attendance: any girl who would attend a geek rally at 6 in the morning gets mega points for true dedication.

The whole event was like some surreal "Nerdstock."

Did anyone see the Asian girl in the end of the registration table?
She had a spreadsheet or something of the winning numbers, and she was crossing them off as the numbers are being read.
So did they pre-pick the numbers before they start passing out the tickets?

maybe the guys have to accompany them to their month-long sewing classes in return... ;)

still a good deal, if you ask me.

There was this one sort of chubby guy who said "Driving 5 hours paid off." But then there were hella old people that won. Oh well..guess I'll have to start saving money to build my super computer.

Does anyone know when they do the online drawing? I.e., if I had won via it, would I have heard by now? :)

(Missed out winning at the Boston on-site, missed out in all 15 or so online drawings to date, hoping for a bit of luck this time.)

Winning Online: Independent judges will select in a random drawing on or about January 14, 2002, one hundred fifty (150) Prize winners from among all eligible entries received prior to the entry deadline for that drawing.

Well , I was at Orlando . Met a couple At'ers but didnt catch any names . Good time , closest they came to me was 3 away . I guess it could be worse since the 2 guys in front of me in line were At'ers and Id guess the person directly infront of them got the combo .
No complaints other than they need someone to toss shirts thats higher than 5 feet . The girls they had giving out Tshirts couldnt toss it farther than 6 feet into the corwd because it was crusing 7 feet off the ground .
Id say there was about 1000 people there ...... dunno where they all found out about it .
The biggest tick-off for me was the cops . They were all acting like a$$holes . One did not even try to be polite , just yelled at people like he was god or something .
O yeah like 2 guys from Miami won combos ... guess it was good for them , thats a long drive to Orlando .
Wish everyone luck in the online drawing :)

O yeah , they liked to call the (I think) 235XX , musta been half of them in that range .
Mine was 23258 ..... 23253 and 23255 both won ......

"This thread makes me want to rant on Amd again. They barraged me with 50 emails about the last promo, but only sent me the email about the amd event in my city the day after it happened. Lame marketers. "

------

Same thing when they finally had a Michigan stop. I kept getting emails except for one time, and only found out the day after. But I fixed them. I won online :p

Now since they sent me the email again, I assume I can win AGAIN ! Right?

Afterall, if winners from before are inelligible, then why send out the emails to the thing?

I WON! I ACTUALLY won! ;p (Santa Clara)

i was the #52nd winner. #39142.
:)

Now I gotta go find some DDR ram :-\ Wish ram prices hadn't gone up.

Now there were some cute girls and I'm not sure what their boyfriends promised them but hot damn, I wish I could get mine up that early. Only reason she'll wake up then is if she's horny.

The dance thing was pretty cool. A hell of a lot of shirts went up to that area in front where the three lines were. All in front. A crapload of them. Those poor guys who were yelling and screaming hardly got anything thrown their way.

We should all get together next time... We can all wear one of our freebie shirts and a freebie hat and carry a freebie frisbee to throw around while we're waiting (i know someone threw a squishy ball at the guy near the end)

When I went up there, my number was already there and the person who won after me. But there sure weren't 75 numbers on that list. My guess is that they put the winning numbers on the paper and crossed them off as they were claimed.

Well, despite dragging my wife and 3 kids along in an attempt to better my odds at the Orlando event, the family went home empty-handed. My best chance probably came when they drew for two combos that hadn't been claimed. This occured after ~80% of the people had already left. They drew about 15 or so numbers before there were two winners still present.

Observations:
I was somewhat suprised at the number of people that showed up in 45 degree weather at 6:00 a.m. Probably at least twice the number I expected.

The T-shirt girls threw like girls.

The cops were rude.

They needed some additional speakers so that the people on the sides could hear.

Went to Orlando, and it was colder than a witch's titty!!!!
I met Lemondrop (What's up!) in line. I missed school for nothing, that is twice now. Well, I guess I did win something. There were ten people who received "authentic" AMD swiss army knife and I was one of them.

I went to the Santa Clara one and I've got everything (CDRs, Tshirt, mug, joystick, gamepad) but the combo and 17"LCD (from Microcenter). The number started by 31xxx and ended by 39xxx. My number was 31158 (I arrived there at 5:45). They called 31135, 31156, 31161, etc. but not my damn number. At the end, there was one UNCLAIMED combo.

By the way, I went to Microcenter after the event and asked the guy there about 99 cents deal on belkin USB cable. He said that their truck would come in today or tomorrow. So watch out for it!

I drove from UCF to Altamonte and got there just before 6AM.
Saw way too many people and when I heard something like the last tickets were handed out, I didn't even bother getting through the crowd to get one.
Went home and went back to sleep.

I figured at 6am not too many people will be there. I figured wrong.
I estimated about 500 people there.

You musta been over by me , 2 kids ina stroller and a loose one ?
I was wearing the red jacket (Star Wars jacket) , and that one cop ...... I bet he played in the Spaceballs movie cause I know he had to be Major A$$hole .

I was standing right behind the guy with the long black(grey maybe) trench coat who won a combo . I was happy for him .
Wish I had known they drew for 2 more combos before I left . Guess it pays to hang around .
Please don't tell me 23258 was called after I left :)
