I just finished my first build ever.
The parts: Soltek MB. AMD XP2000+ proc, 40 gig HD, 256 mb ram, nvidia fx5200 video.
The system is for the kids.
Anyway I got it booted up and loaded xp pro and all is good. The only weird thing I noticed is at the startup screen it says AMD athlon running at 1250. Shouldn't the 2000 be at 1667?
Something I need to chage in the bios?

Yup. 133MHz FSB * 12.5x mulitplier = 1.666GHz, which is the stock clock frequency of a AXP 2000+

Changed it in the bios. It had cjoice of 100 or 133. Clicked on 133 and saved changes. Is that it?

It happened to me when I bought a xp2700+ processor and it ran at 1.6ghz. I got confused and realized that my fsb wasn't what I was looking for so I changed the fsb speed and now it runs at 2.17ghz. :)
