Probably very realistic...Since the lameasses paper launched the frekkin thing back in August the 2700+ and 2800+ 333mhz fsb chips came out...Since the 2600+ wasn't at that point being mass produced it is prbably very easy to just change the multiplier now to 333fsb chips ...

I guess tardiness can pay off sometimes!!!

My one problem with it is it can't be at the 2.133ghz speed since no multiplier works with 166 to produce the 2.133ghz speed....

Very credible source!!! Here is the link.... AMD 2600+ 333fsb

It likely with the slight enhancement of the 333fsb will be 2.083ghz or 12.5 x 166.66...

This is going to force a hasty re-write of a lot of CPU-support charts by the motherboard manufacturers. The Asus A7V266-VM, for instance, is listed as supporting 2600+'s (with latest BIOS), and now they'll have to be more specific, since that board doesn't support 333MHz bus speeds.

BTW, I see TCWO has the 333MHz-based 2600+ available for pre-order, and expects to get them on the 15th: TCWO

 Well it could be a bit of confusion more than anything else. I would imagine AMD will be selling all T.bred-B CPUs in both 266 & 333FSB forms in the long term, and all Barton should be 333FSB .... but surely Barton can't be rearing its head yet ... can it? I wonder how much perf we'll see form the added cache ... and will it hold back the o/c'ability?

I think the 1700+ was a typo on Newegg's part. In the full listing they contradict the 333MHz statement by saying it's 266MHz, right? I think Barton will appear in 266MHz-bus versions at least for a Barton-based AthlonMP, since the additional L2 cache would seem to be just the ticket for keeping their 2P boat afloat until Hammers get going.

It is true, I just got back from Fry's and they had the 2600+ with 333MHz FSB for sale for $342 or something around that price. I asked them what's up since I knew they weren't released and they said that you can buy them Monday!

w00t!

What is the total mhz!!! That is the frekkin story!!! I mean the Tbred 2600+ (266) chip was at 2.133ghz and the raising to 333mhz fsb should constitute a performance enhancement so that and the fact you can't get 2.133ghz total from any multiplier 166fsb combo means IT AINT THE SAME SPEED!!!

I'm just going to wait for the XP 2900+ (with the barton core 512k cache, 333MHz), hopefully out before X-mas.

I didn't think Barton would be out until some time into 2003?

That would be great if it were sooner, but I don't think it will be.
