AMD XP 1800+ fan

Just got an AMD Athlon XP 1800+ and was wondering if its really that risky to install with the stock fan. I heard the chance of the CPU burning up with the fan it comes with is pretty high. So any advice?

well if you bought a retail cpu for extra money, you could use the retail heatsink since you paid for it
if you dont overclock, it will be fine provided you install it correctly
