AMD X2s 939 in stock at Newegg!

If there's a 4800+ in stock, I'm not seeing it in that link. Even the 4400+ isn't that great of a deal. Hell, they raised the price on the Opty 165 by over $25 in the past few weeks...

4600+ sorry
the point being is that 939 X2s are harder and harder to come by
just 2 days ago NE had none. that is why prices are going up.

For people with 939 chipsets and looking to upgrade 939 X2s being in stock and at decent, non-gouging prices is a hot deal.

Here goes the flame war on TD...

(seriously though, it is good to have a choice between saving a few extra $ at TD and the guarantee of good service and support at the Egg.) It so happens I chose the ADV series CPU at the Egg.

note- the Opteron 170 retail would probably be a "stock overclockers" better choice over an OEM x2-4400 (or even a 4600). So if your mobo can do Opteron939s you can have retail boxed with heatpiped cooler for only $10 more. Im considering that myself...although is tough with price drops of E4300 c2d out there calling me 😉

The Opty 170 looks like a good choice for $10 more than the 165 or the OEM 4400+ X2. If you already have a heatsink and/or are overclocking, that is.

Son of a... I have been waiting from some 4800's to become available at the Egg again.

yeah I canceled the 4400+ and did the OPty 170
I swear they weren't there when I ordered at first. Had to be just as they were updating or something

Received my 4400 Toledo today. I went with the lower wattage (ADV) and got a great stepping (LCB9E 0635 GPCW). From what I could find on-line some people have hit 2.9GHz with this chip with very good stability in Prime95. I have never OC'd anything (CPU, Video, etc) however, this is tempting to push it up 10 or 15%.

I'm able to run an Opteron 170 at 2.5 Ghz on stock cooling. I highly recommend it. Heck I might even get another one if I can find killer deal on a MB.
