Sweet, I've been missing my X2 ever since I sold it and went back to an Opty 144 (had to pay some bills :) )

Looks great! 3800+ X2 for $150! Hopefully Opterons drop too.

But it's UP TO 50%. They probably won't give 50% price drops on the best ones (the best selling ones).

They'll probably give the highest drops to the higher models, lower drops to the lower models, since everyone buys the lower models and overclocks them.

But AMD might be nice, and just do it equally. =D That'd be great.

Most likely the 35% will be for the 3800+. We may see it at $190-$200.

Good news - I'm hoping to upgrade my XP2400+ sometime this summer. Spending less money is good.

should be AM2.
The price of 939 is... unknown. It could be lower if shop want to clear stock. Or higher if AMD want to push AM2...

Definitely good news - my wife's computer is coming up on an upgrade next year, and I was decidedly unenthused about my choices in terms of cheap dual-core CPUs (the Pentium D, cheap CPU and wonderful overclocker that it is, isn't a great fit for an mATX box). Hopefully this will knock the 4400+ (which has a nice balance between clock speed and cache) down into the $150 range by Q2 2007.

Then again, if Intel executes well with Conroe, maybe I'll get her one of those. Isn't competition great?

a half price 4600+ should be around £180 squids, i'll definately build an AM2 system at that price.

Nice. I'm glad I waited on dual core, looks like some bargains will be had there when I'm ready to make the jump.

better get those 3800's while you can..

how much longer do you think those will be produced?
I know AMD has been known to continue the low end of a product line longer than Intel, but the question is how long..

With AM2 being released.. and higher end X2's out, will 3800 production cease? probably not..but who knows

excellent. though i wonder if the value of the X2 will still beat Conroe's low end (considering overclocking)...

Didn't the roadmap show some low power X2 3800+ chips? Something like a 35W TDP...
