What were you expecting? (my sarcasm meter may be broken today :)

Ok, I dont know if this is part of the problem, but I have not replaced the heatsink/fan. I did however lower vcore from 1.45 to 1.4 and at stock speeds it loads just above 65 degrees. I was getting above 70 even with stock speeds at the 1.4 level. I will buy the arctic paste today and remount the heatsink fan. I hope that will help the temperatures.
Also, I have 5 fans including the cpu fan, but 2 are on exhaust. I think I have good airflow, but should I have all the fans blowing air into my thing?

The kitchen fan might not be helping. I have an xp-90 with a thermaltake ufo (blowing down.) When I opened my case the full load temp dropped from 50C to 45C. When I opened the case and put a small fan (approx 10 in. in diameter) blowing right on the cpu/mobo, my full load temp went up to 48C. After some tests I realized that the fan was interupting the airflow of my cpu fan and all my other fans even with an open case. You might wanna try removing the room fan and just have teh case open without anything blowing in or out. If anything stick the fan as far in to your computer as you can without hitting any components, and have it blow out. See if this helps.

Seems like theres a problem with my Temperature monitor. I'm using MBM5, and it might be that the temperatures are not reported correctly even though bios. I will reinstall and see what happens.

Hehe, I'm not really sure.. I get the impression from people on this forum that they are all running at less then 40 degrees.. and thats when overclocked. Mine is about 45 degrees idle at stock speed.

Dont forget your have one of the hottest ones (110W dissipation like the 4600+ isnt it?)

Yeah thats true.. I just expected a lower temp. I suppose I should stop worrying then. :) If theres anyone else reading this thats running a 4800+ of 4600+ tho, I'd love to hear what your idle cpu temp is. (And max load temp as well if you've tested it..)

What is your max uberowo? If its close to mine I'll rest easier. At least i know that if I get screwed over, you will too.

Also, I bought and applied silver5, and also repositioned the casefans even more to try to suck in alot of cool air, and now my temp at maxload is 65 degrees(plus or minus 2). I'm still going to reformatt and see if it helps with the readings.

Just to give an update, my Processor was not overheated at all. It was a software issue. Fixed and idling at 39 degrees. Will post my temps at max load soon.

Mine seems to stop at 56 degrees on max load.. thats only running a few minutes tho, havent tested over long periods of time... Is there any way to make prime use 100% cpu instead of 50%? :D

Yes, run two copies of Prime95, set the affinity to CPU 0 on the 1st copy, and CPU 1 on the 2nd copy.

FYI, DPAD will peg both cores at 100% CPU usage with only one copy. ;)

Also on another note, Don't use MBM5 with DFI Lan party. Thats whats causing me all this hastle.

I am running a 4800+ and my idle temp is 39C and 52C load. Although it flucuates alot. This is on a Koolance watercooling setup at 1.47v vcore.

On air I would idle same, 38C and load was at 61C.

Ok thanks, I guess my temp isnt unheard of then.. I'd still like it a little cooler tho.. maybe I should look into watercooling as well.

Unless you are insistent on water-cooling the X2, I'd highly recommend the XP-90c...

Overclocked, and overvolted, in a 81f room, 100% CPU load on both cores... I'm at 52c rite now under those condidions.

Actually I'd prefer not to use watercooling.. seems like a hassle. :D I thought I bought a good fan with the zalman 7000 but I duno. I'll check out that fan your recommending, thanks for the tip.

My X2 @ 2.7GHz/1.55v is running two instances of F@H and the load temps with a Zalman 7700Cu @ 12V is 59C.

Duvie has Exactly that cooler on his X2, and I think its at 52c-56 at max load. I think its mounted wrong, ot the motherboard is reposrting the wrong temps. What motherboard ? ( might have missed it in your replies)

I have DFI Lan party. It was a software issue. I dled MBM5 and it messed with the sensors. Now I am idling at 39/40 degrees which seems to be normal.

The Zalman resorator is a great watercooling solution, installation is under an hour, and the instructions are very clear, the only hard part to the whole thing is installing the waterblock itself, takes a *LOT* of force to screw down.

Im very happy with it, fanless, and handles my overclocked prescott like a champ, even on a hot summer day.

I think that is way to hot. You probably need a better heatsink and need to not overclock as much. Hope this helps.

LOL....

I am using same HSF....I am running 52c right now with 2 instances of FH going for 4 days straiht...I idle at 30c....This is all at 2.2ghz@2.55ghz w/ 1.47v actual....

It could be mobo tmpes being reported are errorneous...What mobo??? Latest bios???full support??

I have an XP-90c coming this monday with a high cfm (low audible) 92 mm fan,...I am hoping to get my load temps at 2.6ghz below 50c....
