AMD vs Intel

People who buy AMD only say Intel sucks
People who buy Intel only say AMD sucks
I think they both suck in one way or another trying to squeeze more money out of us consumer changing form factor from socket7 to slot 1, socket370,
slot a, socket a
It is a good excuse for them to get us to buy new motherboard and a good way to get rid of super7 for good.
actually I'm fed up with them playing games with each other and the cunsumer as well.
can't we all just get along?

first of all, they are not making any money from sells of socket A motherboard. AMD switched to that form factor b/c it would SAVE consumers' money. also, thanks to competition from AMD, Intel lowered their prices, but AMD chips are even cheaper. a far cry from "I think they both suck in one way or another trying to squeeze more money out of us consumer."

As long as they both keep competing I don't really mind. It just makes prices go down and more high quality CPUs to be developed.

For the moment I'm primarily an AMD fan but that could change. If Intel comes out with a faster cheaper solution than the Athlon I'll be all over it. But until then go AMD!!

As far as motherboards go I like AMD way more. After the K6-2/3 CPUs are gone their entire line of CPUs will use one and only one interface: socket A. Where as Intel split their line in two: slot 1 and socket 370, forcing consumers to buy adapters if they want to upgrade to a CPU that can't plug into their motherboard. That's just one more thing we have to buy.
