If you have the time, could you please take this survey about AMD and Intel processors?
I've been studying the ways in which these 2 companies compete, and their market for a while and now trying to get some poll data on it.
Don't worry, this is no scam or anything and no personal data is asked for. I'd find it helpful if some of you could take this survey, and I'd be glad to post its results on anandtech if anyone is interested. Don't be thrown off by the fact that the survey isn't too technical.
Here's the link:

many thanks.

Done.

I don't really how i couldn't really anwer most of those questions without having to find an answer from the list, but anyway.

To answer your poll in one question for most of us here, we buy based on what is the price/performance leader.
It has nothing to do with name or brand in most cases.

I took it. For #5 I think there should be another option though. The question is "Why do you use this processor?" The reason I do is because AMD offers better performance for gamers.

There are many reasons to get AMD. They don;t even cover things like temperature, power consumption, ease of installation, or a particular usage. The survey needs work.

@Markfw900: the reason why I didn't include technical details such as the "power consumption, temperature and ease of installation" you mentioned is because the analysis of the data will be focussing on its economic aspects, although i agree with you that those factors are extremely interesting and important as well.

@KoolDrew: Don't you think that "performance for gamers" is somewhat (not completely) included in the answer "the quality is better" (meaning performance is greater). If its not implied, maybe I should add this explanation.

@TuxDave: I was hoping that you would utilize your personal knowledge about the processors when answering the survey, although of course preference in brand will influence your decision so I guess every answer will be a mixture of both.

In any case, thank you for the fast answers. And I am still open to more ideas of improving the survey, since it is by far not perfect yet.

Are you looking for a difference in brand value between the companies? When you say that the P4 3.4GHz vs the A64 3400+, should we take in our personal knowledge of the two processors or when you tell use that they're similiar in performance that we should take that at face value and use our preferences in brand?

what about those of us that use both on a daily basis? I have Intel at work. AMD for my gaming rig. AMD for my gf's rig. Intel for my notebook. :)

Done, though the prices question is kinda weird, I mean, even if the AMD was more expensive, I'd still consider it due to other factors. And is that 3.4 a Northwood or a Prescott?

@carlosd: im sorry if the prices are a bit outdated, however, they aren't majorly off.
@anonymous user: one of the poll takers seems to possess a Super Cyrix 10000000TetraHz or at least specifies this in the survey...I want :p
@Leper Messiah: Sorry for not specifying any further, I didn't want to make the survey too confusing but, lets say, for comparability that its a prescott :)

Can't answer #9. I wouldn't buy a 3.4ghz intel for $250, but I also don't only use AMD.

Same thing here. I would consider it at $250, but that may not be cheap enough for me to actually buy it.

ahh sorry about that. i thought going down to 250$ was already so low for a high end intel processor, it couldnt get any better. but if thats the case id say the last answer would be closest to your choices.
