AMD vs. Intel Processors

And I am doing some searching but does anyone have a chart, URL, whatever which shows me how the AMD processors stack up against the "equivalent" Intel processor?

Thanks, Bill

they both suck. apple G5 is the way to go...

🙂 sorry. I had to do that. I was joking BTW 😀

seriously, look at any mobo review done on AT or hardocp. they normally show performance comparisons across a wide array of hardware.

I was going to say...... "Oh, my!"

Then again, I used to sell Apple or Crapple as I started to call them. At first, I hated the Mac and after I used them for a couple of months, I found they are much easier to use and I did not notice any appreciable speed difference vs. a comparable Intel chip. The one thing a MAC (and PCs for that matter) need is plenty of RAM. Without a bunch of RAM, the MACs would crash 5x more often.

I have heard people say that if Apple outsourced their hardware and focused on software and the OS, Windows and sniff, sniff Bill Gates would never exist.

Oh, well. History.

The main review on www.anandtech.com has a review stacking up Intel vs AMD. The AMD 3000+ is better then all Intels except the most expensive one. Remember, the 3000+ is $150 when the most expensive Intel is what, $800? And the one for $800 is only 1-4 FPS more. That being said, a 3200+ destroys all Intels.

TomsHardware guide did a review of every single processor up to release. Check it out there, it was only a couple months ago.
