Amd announced details on their new v340 graphics card for data center. 300w for a card with dual Vega56 chips at 1500mhz? (Semiaccurate) and 32GB hbm. Product site shows its 14nm. The TDP seems low for 14nm since a wx8200 Vega56 card is 230w tdp. I was expecting it to be 7nm but could it be a typo?

You might be confusing this with Vega 20, which is a single die 7nm GPU with 4 stacks of HBM2.

It's not 7nm, it's 14nm Vega.

Typically dual chip GPU cards run at lower clock speed, and almost certainly that is the case here as well.

I'm at VMWorld and got to hold this card. It weighs a ton (mostly for its passive heatsink). They have a server on display with 4 V340 GPUs, 512GB of RAM, and a single EPYC CPU. The promise is being able to do 128 fully involved Windows 10 sessions with 64 threads from the single EPYC CPU (oversubscription of 8:1 when using 2 vCPUs per VM). Single socket licensing, and no NVIDIA GRID Licensing. That's a *massive* savings over a competing Intel / NVIDIA solution. I'll be curious to see if it pans out in some sales.
